Beehive
 
NOTE: Our tapers and candles are SEASONAL items. Due to our Texas heat, our candles will only be sold and shipped, October through May of the following year. 
 
I wish our real beehives looked this cute! This type of beehive is called a Skep. In old times, it was made by bunching grass and straw together and using cane to make into a rope. It was then coiled into a type of dome. It had no bottom, so beekeepers would just place it in trees or on top of a horizontal surface. Bees would congregate there and make their home. Unfortunately, the bees did not survive when harvest time came along.
 
Today, many cities, counties and/or states outlaw the use of the Skep to raise bees. With the bee population dwindling, it's imperitive to keep the bees safe and protect them throughout their life cycle.

PLEASE burn your candle responsibly by putting it on a non-combustible surface while being close by as the candle burns. Please don't burn the candle more than 3 hours at any one time. Trim the wick the next time you light your candle to 1/4".
